The Colonia Evita

The colonia is a vacation camp run by the argentine railroad union. It is in a wooded valley a few km outside of Alta Gracia. It is composed of a rather ugly main administration building where meals are served, and a lot of little cabins. It is all a bit rustic, and the mattresses could be softer, but it was close to the estancia of our friends, hence quite convenient, besides being very cheap.

The cabins are simple but adequate

The area is nicely landscaped
Every morning we were awaken by the loud squawking of squabbling monk parakeets (also known as quaker parrots) ...
